Most books aren’t abandoned for lack of talent

They stall in the messy middle: a plot that won’t come together, a non-fiction outline that keeps shifting, or months without writing because life got in the way. A book coach gives you structure, accountability and expert feedback at exactly the moments you need it, so you keep moving and finish.

Our coaches are published authors and experienced editors. They’ve guided first-time writers, executives, memoirists and novelists through the same challenges you’re facing.

Our coaching services

One-to-one book coaching

Regular video sessions with your coach, written feedback on the pages you submit and a writing plan with milestones. Your coach helps you solve craft problems as they come up, whether that’s structure, voice, dialogue, pacing or argument.

Manuscript evaluation

Already have a complete draft? An evaluator reads the whole manuscript and delivers a detailed report covering structure, character or argument, pacing, voice, market fit and a prioritized list of revisions. It’s the clearest way to know what your book needs before investing in a full edit.

Book proposal and outline coaching

For non-fiction authors, we help you define your audience and promise, build a chapter outline and, if you plan to pitch agents, write a compelling book proposal.

Editorial reviews

A professional assessment of your finished book to help you understand how it reads to industry professionals and how to position it for readers.

Book coaching FAQs

What is a book coach?

A book coach is an experienced writer or editor who works with you over time while you write. Unlike an editor, who works on a finished draft, a coach helps you plan, write and revise, keeping you accountable and giving feedback as you go.

What is a manuscript evaluation?

A manuscript evaluation is a professional read of your complete draft, followed by a detailed report on its strengths, weaknesses and market potential. It costs less than a full developmental edit and tells you exactly what to work on next.

Is book coaching right for first-time authors?

Very much so. Most of our coaching clients are writing their first book. Coaching helps you avoid common mistakes, build a writing habit and actually finish the book.

How do coaching sessions work?

Sessions take place by video call, typically weekly or every two weeks. Between sessions you submit pages and receive written feedback, with email support in between.

Do you coach both fiction and non-fiction?

Yes. Fiction coaching focuses on story structure, character and scene craft. Non-fiction coaching focuses on positioning, outlining, chapter structure and turning expertise into a readable book.

Can coaching lead to publishing?

Yes. When your manuscript is ready, you can move straight into editing, design and publishing with our team, with your coach’s notes passed along so nothing is lost.
