Why we started
Hachette Books Publishing was founded with one goal: to make publishing more personal, more approachable and more empowering for every writer. We saw talented authors stuck between two bad options, either navigating self-publishing alone or waiting years for a traditional deal that might never come.
So we built a team of editors, designers, illustrators, publishing specialists and marketers who give independent authors the same professional standards as a traditional publisher, while the author keeps full ownership and control.
